I think that you should try it just to see the results.Just an opinion...
(2 years and 228 days ago)Banana...
Your camera has focus range (from lens) on macro close-up mode: 5cm (2 in.) to infinity (∞).The hyperfocal distance is the closest distance at which a lens can be focused while keeping objects at infinity acceptably sharp; that is, the focus distance with the maximum depth of field. When the lens is focused at this distance, all objects at distances from half of the hyperfocal distance out to infinity will be acceptably sharp. That means that you can place your lens 5cm away from the water drop & still have a clear image(so the water drop is closer & more visible).

DOF(depth of field). In optics, particularly as relates to film and photography, the depth of field (DOF) is the portion of a scene that appears sharp in the image. Although a lens can precisely focus at only one distance, the decrease in sharpness is gradual on either side of the focused distance, so that within the DOF, the unsharpness is imperceptible under normal viewing conditions. For some images, such as landscapes, a large DOF may be appropriate, while for others, such as portraits, a small DOF may be more effective.

My regards sir...

Agree with Gubbles but i only have one sugestion to make.As i can tell you used flash for this capture.Flash is very strong light & there are some "hot spots" on the hearts...so the shape is visible but the colour is BOH(blown out highlights,it's when the light on a subjects surface is sooo strong that you loose detail).Next time try with an other source of light,a softer one.Sorry if i am hard on you author & i wish you good luck!

I like the fact that the lighting creates a diagonial line from the "edge" ot the furniture to the right lower corner of the frame. If this was intentional...bravo.Nice clear colours & clarity!

Please read the "rules & guidelines" on the HELP "pop-up" menu in the main page. You should remove the date stamp.Thank you!

Nice texture & lighting...but the focus is wrong. You should try manual focus (auto focus sometimes gets "crazy" with strong light!

Hi & sorry for being late to my reply.Well this is a reversed dof contest,so the flowers should be oof & the boy in focus(here is the other way around). In high resolution the flowers seems to me that they are a little blury(but is just me because it's day time & you probably use a high shutter speed)The boys hands are BOH(blown out highlights,is when the light is sooo strong on a subject that you loose detail). You lovely catched the moment here & this is a beautyful capture.Sorry for being so hard on you but this is what i see in your photo.Wellcome once again...!

(i don't know what are you shooting with but if your camera has MANUAL settings this would be very easy) will take light from the LIGHTEST spot of your book & the background will be eliminated. That way you'll have a book that "pops-up"on a solid black background.Just my opinion author.
(2 years and 249 days ago)life of pi
Simple things can become intresting, beautyful if you put a little imagination, effort on them. Here flash is not the most desireable light to set a beautyful mood that fits the book. All so the background is not very flatering(it's a blanket on a bed...?)You could set this up in a whole different way (IMHO).If you place the book straight up on a small table in a dark room (or night time ) & light the book with a small flashlight from YOUR desireable angle to create shadows & a library mood"
& set the light metering to "SPOT" your camera
(2 years and 249 days ago)life of pi
Silhouette...not a shadow.
(2 years and 249 days ago)Morning Seaside!
I see there's a brick wall on your right. If i was you i would try i different angle f.e...I would take the photo of the chair with the wall as background because the wallpaper & the plants are not adding to the photo... This way the chair would kind of "pop up" & it would be more easy to see.
(2 years and 249 days ago)Natures Chair
The miracle of life...I had some doubts in the begining(i saw the photo before it was removed for the first time),some mixed feelings of what this photo represents.I think of it very well before i write this comment.I am not a father or a mother & maybe i can't understant the "beauty"in this...& i apologize for this. For me is a shocking capture & i can't see the "beauty" through the beholders eyes.I agre with cropping it a bit & that is a rare moment & it means a lot for you.Sory if i am hard on you (that's not my intention).I wish you & the baby the best.God bless you all!
(2 years and 251 days ago)birth
In high-resolution this photo looks like an aerial photo with mountains, valleys & rivers.Nice abstract piece author!

Gorgeous, retro mood...if only the tin & the tea bags weren't cut ( a wider frame, just a little bit ).My regards author! The pattern of the wallpaper on the background is the same with the one on the tin.Great effort & creativity in this capture!

Χαλβας (chalvás).Flour based: This type of halva is slightly gelatinous and made from grain flour, typically semolina. The primary ingredients are oil, flour, and sugar. Nut-butter based: This type of halva is crumbly and usually made from Tahini (sesame paste) or other nut butters, such as sunflower seed butter. The primary ingredients are nut-butter and sugar. Halva may also be based from numerous other ingredients, including sunflower seeds, various nuts, beans, lentils, and vegetables such as carrots, pumpkins, yams, and squashes.Delicious...!!!

I like the fact that the pattern on the f/g & b/g is the same with the berrys pattern.Focus is right...(on the bright side of the berry & not in front wich is dark).I like it author.Good luck!
(2 years and 256 days ago)Raspberry
When you find what you want to shot take your time with it...Think first how you want it to look after you shot it & try to set it up.Don't look from the cameras display but through the camera viewfinder(i tryed it & you have a better prospect of what you see).Try differend angles & light. You will be suprized from the results!
(2 years and 256 days ago)Stabilopod
If i had an object such beautyful as this one, here is how i was shot this photo.First a solid background is a must (a piece of paper, black or white)because the colour of the object is blue & i need a colour that will make blue "pop up".A flash light to light the object (form above, under, from back, left or right is up to you) with a creative way (flash is not creative IMHO).That way the object (that is transparent with air bubbles) would look like is floating over the air (not placed on a bed).Thats just me author & i wish you good luck!
(2 years and 256 days ago)Stabilopod
Great thinking but not so good execution(IMHO always)You should use a solid colour as a background(so the shape of the flowers is clearly visable) & a more creative light (flash is hard in the center of the photo & there are some "hot spots" on the tomatos). This shot has potentials if you work out background & light...The angle is ok but the table & all those stuff on it are distracting the eye!Just my opinion author.
(2 years and 256 days ago)Tomato Flower
A had a tomato once...not long ago that suffered from oppression.
Her loss cost me so much...
It was hard to see her hanging from the roof light.Me best regards for your loss...Tomatos act realy strange sometimes
(2 years and 257 days ago)Cruel world!
The focus is wrong.Your camera is very close to the subject & the photo is not clear!Keep it up...you'll get there!
