Is it just me or does it seem that many of the contests that are coming up duplicates or extremely limiting and I know there is a vast list of suggestions that are different. For example magnifying glass and super close are almost identical. In addtion to this the book contest seems extremely limiting.


Also wouldn't a contest such as this be violating copyright too as the book which is normally copyrighted is the subject matter.

The copyright issue with 'books' is a serious one. Straight reproductions / "scans" of pages or books will surely be considered off topic and removed. On the other hand, every piece of whatever is copyright protected, be it a bill board, graffiti or any logo or sign for that matter. As long as the author "adds some artistic effort" to the subject, it should be a work on its own, reflecting the work of others, which is clearly within the right to use the work of others artistically.

Suggested some contests there - who chooses them, so many suggestions we have over there ...and I'm just getting started!
