I'm neither martyr nor saint -not even a good (ex)boy. The man never called me a thug or a hoodlum, he simply said that I was not all that good with a camera. And deep down I knew he was right, so why would I want to... take him on, or something?
If his comments were confined to venom-shedding and/or pure sarcasm, I'd be the first to hate the man, telling him off too in the process. But this is not his approach. Nofue would tell you, "Look, this you've done wrong, though here is how you can do it better," never hesitating to share with you everything he knows about photography. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT? OK, I can fully understand that not all people take all that kindly to his free counseling, which of-course is their right and privilege, but I've "seen" nofue being attacked by third parties for giving advise to contestants who may after all be interested in what he has to say to them. How about that?

OK...OK, dear Mrs.Cooper, all is well that it ends well. I knew I was going to get into big you-know-what by saying what I've already said (maybe I'm yet to hear the end of it, poor me,) but I thought it was only honest to voice my opinion, which of-course may ammount to absolutely nothing. I'm sure you are aware of Inspector Callahan's maxim about opinions...

Nofue, you may well be very knowledgeable, but I am sorry, good manners cost nothing, and diplomacy is available to all! Ripping shots apart in the manner you do, is demeaning, nothing less. I don't have a problem with constructive criticism, but there are limits!
What faster way is there to put off new shooters from staying here, than for them to be ripped to shreds by, what might appear to them, a know all!!

Ade -- please show me _one_ of my comments on a photograph which was not constructive criticism including some suggestion to resolve any problems, and you will preserve your credibility. If you can't prove any of your statements, please don't issue any, because that might be considered a personal attack. It would be sad to see you banned just because of that. However, I'm not the flat footed stupid 'great' and 'nice find' commenter and I give positive comments only where they are due. Lying I leave for those who love to cheat on each other in contests, my friend.

Here -- just to get back to the topic -- there is an issue with an entry which is clearly violating the rules which has still not being taken care of. That's the point, and bashing me for bringing it up is simply the wrong way to deal with this issue.

Jero -- thanks for your kind words, very much appreciated. However, I lack the time and the nerve to deal with those few who may think I'm taking away from them. I'm swamped with excessive paying work and I rather spend my time with my kids and clients than trying to make people aware of photographic principles and rules. Maybe I'll keep watching and red flagging entries, but even this is not certain by now.

Nofue, I haven't made any statements, I have simply stated that your approach, imo, is rude, lacks manners and is undiplomatic. I am not alone in these thoughts, and you know that only too well. I don't know, perhaps this has to do with the way you do things in your country, but where I come from, it would be considered that which I have written.

You also know full well, that you will not be able to leave this site............!

One more lecture, just for Ade: whoever doesn't disable the 'comment' box on entry time, asks for comments. That's how things are usually done on sites like this. If you haven't come across that so called 'opt-out' principle (contestants can opt out of getting comments on their entry), you learned a new trick by now. Cheers.
