Please read the CONTEST GUIDELINES before participating in this contest.

fast shutterspeed
Contest Goal:
In this contest you have to use a shutterspeed as 1/200 or faster to freeze a fast moving object. You can freeze, water, cars, running animals or just sport, ... anything moving that you like.

Contest comments:

Lodd: Ehm, the contest image is not fast shutterspeed... (2 years and 132 days ago)
jerostone: With all due respect, and before we catch a cold from the breeze caused by red flags raised all too fast, should the object in focus be distinct and clear, or blurry? (2 years and 132 days ago)
Contest Moderator: Fast shutter speed is defined by NO MOTION BLUR at all. Blur from a wide open lens is OK. FYI: to get water crisp sharp, it needs at least 1/2000, better yet 1/4000 of a second. (2 years and 132 days ago)
Lodd: wow, i wish my flash could sync at those speeds (2 years and 131 days ago)
nofue: You don't need that -- the flash fires fast enough to be a 'freezer' by itself, even at shutter speeds of 1/250… (2 years and 131 days ago)
itsmymoment: Agree w/ nofue...even a bullet moving at 800-1000 feet per second can be 'frozen' with flash at a shutter speed of 1/250 to 1/500...1/2000 is not necesary to freeze water moving at 30-50 fps. (IMHO and experence) (2 years and 131 days ago)

nita1983: how do you find out what the shutter speed of the photo is? i dont really know the technical sides of photography..i point and shoot haha (2 years and 130 days ago)

rrhall: actually 1/2000 is about right...Considering a bullet is solid and a slower shot will be crisp because its just combating the speed. However water, even in tiny amounts is constantly shifting making it much harder to avoid motion blur, despite its slow speed. (2 years and 122 days ago)

final rank: 2 out of 53 (final score: 62.1 %)

This is my first attempt (ever) to freeze water.I had never try it before because i thought it would be very difficult (& it is indeed).
I don't care if this entry goes good or bad in this contest...
I would realy, realy appreciate any help/tips from those who know this kind of photography tho!!!
The background is a piece of my living rooms wallpaper & the settings are:Iso 100 , f:8.0 , 1/2000 (the highest shutter speed on my camera) with the use of my cameras flash.Manual focus on a straw that i placed in to the bowl to gather the water drops.
Thank you in advance.
