Contest comments:
Lodd: Are we allowed to make " a sandwich" with two raw files in the camera? or is that consider as over editing?

bartoszwozniak: So I guess that only night shots are allowed?
(2 years and 261 days ago)
nofue: I'd say it's overedited -- as lots of people simply don't have cams which do this.

raducu: let me stop laughing... well... that's a bad contest. some of the photographers live in the center of New York. How to take one of this pictures? Moon rise? Come on... Let us do what Lodd said...

raducu: to make my point: not everybody has the same chances in this contest. it's like you ask to post photos of some penguin. that's ok. cause we will go to Zoo. but if you ask "some penguin IN NATURAL HABITAT"... well... that's not fair

friiskiwi: I'm sure that every week there is some contest we can't participate in. Is that really a problem?

nofue: I think the moon also raises over NYC. And as the moon is lit rock, it's fairly bright, so light pollution won't matter even in brightly lit cities. If you are curious: I posted a "how to shoot the moon" in the forum a while ago…

raducu: the moon rises over NYC. but it's really hard to find a spot with "no buildings"
(2 years and 260 days ago)
raducu: friiskiwi - yes it's a big problem. i'm in love with the moon

snappler: Would the moon setting in the west be OK or is this strictly a moon rising sort of thing?
(2 years and 260 days ago)
outbackjack: I managed to get a photo of the moon with detail using a canon powershot S2IS a mid range basic camera so you don't have to have great equipment to do the job
(2 years and 260 days ago)
kyricom: Ummm, snappler... unless you told us, how would we know if the moon is rising or setting?
(2 years and 260 days ago)
kyricom: Boo hoo city people. That's what you get for living in a city

There's lots of contests I can't do because we DON'T have buildings around (there's not a lot of graffiti, for example, on all the cows around me)

karaflazz: Well said kyricom...

nofue: Geez, afaik there is public transportation to commute to a place where you can see the moon rising -- Central Park in NYC f.e. Shooting the moon close to some of the skyscrapers should be quite a picture... And for the graffiti I had to drive some 60 kms…

mellanieb: ha ha maxgraph ... i thought I found another with one of my shots it had the moon and a blue planet - not sure what happened there.

Lefa: Bad contest for me, my teeth start itching and I get the wild urge to go out on the balcony and start howling... and the police department is right across the street sooo...

adeincyprus: why no buildings?.........some of the best shots of the moon I have seen have buildings in them!
