Photography contest - historical view

Please read the CONTEST GUIDELINES before participating in this contest.

historical view
Contest Goal:
Mankind went a long way so far and there are lots of left overs which remind us of long past days of our history. Dive into your local history and take a picture which tells some story of ancient days. No pictures of pictures or memorial places, just pictures of historic buildings or places, without tourists, kids or animals. As you were back in time, taking a photo or two.

Contest comments:

xstg: So if I get it right, it must absolutely be a local building, something in our town? (2 years and 282 days ago)
nofue: My intention was to have us look for left overs of the past in our neighborhood. If you lack historic buildings, you may resort to landscapes... Anyway, try to make it look spectacular with a mood of yesterday (...when all my trouble seemed so far away ... (2 years and 281 days ago)
hilleke: no pictures of "pictures" should be no pictures of ? (2 years and 280 days ago)
nofue: Pictures, as paintings, sketches, drawings, ... anything 2d for that matter. We want to see objects. (2 years and 280 days ago)
Keremtr: Dose the object have to be a building or could it be like a artifact in a museum? (2 years and 278 days ago)
nofue: Anything 'historical' from your local history goes -- imo (2 years and 278 days ago)
kyricom: All these cool ancient ruins and 500 year old buildings - sometimes I'm bummed I live in such a young country (2 years and 278 days ago)
nofue: I'm quite surprised how many people here seem to live in historical surroundings we all know well. Actually, I miss the shot of the tower of Pisa But heck, a great picture is not necessarily a picture of a well known or 'cool' old bunch of stones. That chevy pick-up is a good example for more recent history. And kyricom -- if you happen to liv close to f.e. the Yellow Stone np, that's a valid 'historic view' as well... The marae is a communal ceremonial centre where meetings and ceremonies take place in accordance with traditional protocols. On the marae official functions take place including formal welcomes, celebrations, weddings, christenings, tribal reunions, and tangihanga (funerals). The older people have the authority on the marae, and they impart to the young people traditions and cultural practices including legends, songs or the arts of weaving or carving.
