Photography contest - off focus

Contest Goal:
In this contest your goal is to take a photo where the focus is off, or soft or the image completely abstract and no-one can really tell what it is. make it a artistic "mistake." good luck!

kyricom: OK... is the point of this contest to make abstracts where we can't tell what was originally photographed? Or, is it ok to simply have a picture using soft focus where everyone can tell what it is? It's pretty easy to tell what most of these entries are, are they off-theme or not? Something blurry/oof really makes me want to skip the photo and move forward to something else... Anyway, I might be mistaken, as a lot of photographers like the """art""" in such photos....... To me that means any blurred, soft or abstract photo is acceptable which means all entries thus far are on topic. (2 years and 302 days ago) belaprel: take not I said "OR no-one can really tell what it is" it's an option. i am thrilled to find so many people are trying for this contest! it's also funny how people - instead of immediately jumping on the "oof" pictures - are imidiately jumping on the in focus pictures! (2 years and 302 days ago) kyricom: I think there is a difference between "out of focus" and "soft focus." Soft focus is intentionally done for some type of (artistic) purpose or effect. A lot of entries in this contest just seem like people didn't focus well enough and now have a contest where they can use them. (2 years and 302 days ago) Epazia: adeincyprus did an excellant one of this in the pink contest i think is exactly the idea ot this contest it was softly focused and artistic, the soft focus actually made the shot beautiful (2 years and 302 days ago) nofue: xstg -- photography could also be used to create irritation to draw attention. Break the rules when you know what you're doing -- this is quite different from entering something the AF couldn't catch. And just because one can't tell what it is doesn't mean it is art. Sometimes it's just trash
