theme contest goal:
Images of the big city contest. We live in a world full of big cities. We invite you to transmit, through images, the way you have of looking at these big, developed cities and capture, from your personal, sensitive point of view, what can influence the everyday life of these metropolises in which we live.
Participate in this contest by showing us your way of illustrating or photographing big cities. It doesn’t matter what camera you use, what technique you employ, or what means of illustration you would like to use. The important thing is what you can transmit with your images.
The 15 winning images will be displayed at Maxó gallery. Barcelona - Spain, from January 26 until 02 February 2012.

There will be a pre-selection of the first 100 images by way of the voting system. Then, a qualified panel of judges will select the 15 images to be displayed.
VOTING SYSTEM:
Voting system will take place in 3 stages:
First stage:
• Once the contest has been published in the web, the participants can publish their images that represent the contest’s concept. In this stage, you will only be able to publish images and make comments. No voting will take place.
Second stage:
• The participation period ends. You will not be able to publish any more images in the contest, and the voting period with the new star voting system starts: with this type of voting system, you will only be able to vote once for the image that you like best; the votes cast by users with a complete profile and that are active in Blipoint will have more value; the votes cast by those users that register and immediately vote for the image will have very little value. In this way, the users that have more friends will not end up in first place. The voting will be done by the actual photographers, illustrators, graphic designers, and individuals that are active in the Blipoint community.
Third stage:
• Once the contest has ended, the qualified panel of judges will make the final selection of the winning images.
RULES:
Legitimization to take part:
• They can participate people major of 18 years old and people under 18 who are relying on express authorization of their parents or legal representatives, and once they are known and accepted by the participant the conditions of registration, protection of information, intellectual property, and all those other conditions that, with general character, should be additionally considered necessary for the participation of the users in Blipoint.
• For technical reasons the participants of the contest will have to be registered in Blipoint.
Prize:
• There will be an exhibition in Spain of the 15 winning images that have been selected by a qualified panel of judges, from the first 100 pre-selected that have acquired the greatest number of votes, in Maxó Gallery (Calle Portal Nou, 29 - 08003, Barcelona, Spain) from January 26 to February 02, 2012.
• A digital certificate registering your participation in the exhibition will be sent via email.
• A cocktail party will be held to inaugurate the exhibition, on 26/01/2012.
• The day of the inauguration, a video will be made and photos will be taken, and they will be published in our blog and in various other media such as a digital art magazine, local press, blogs that specialize in art events, and social networks, among others.
Contest Workings: The contest will take place in 3 stages:

• Beginning of the publication stage of the image to participate in the “PHOTO URBE” contest organized by Blipoint. It starts 20/06/2011 and ends 14/11/2011.
• Each contestant can publish up to a maximum of (2) two images.
• Any technique may be used. Photographs, collages, paintings, illustrations, or mixed format techniques can be submitted.
• Only digital posters will be accepted, and they must not be larger than 1.5
