Except for the garbage can next to the first pillar, this is a great shot. Well that and the chair to the left. It just doesn't look like it belongs.

Yeah, both that chair and trash can seem like some high profile items that people wouldn't wanna leave behind, how do those items not add to the abandonment factor?

Yeah, this building gets burned 15 times a year, they never let it go down...which is beyond me because i've been to the top and its extremely dangerous... many parts of the floors have caved in down to the next floor and parts of the wall are literally detiriorating.

Yeah, basic stuff, RGB curves to deepen the sky and grass...i wasn't really sure on this sites policy for HDRs though

yes, Detroit is very much like this and Saginaw is almost as bad--it is a shame because honestly there isn't much beauty in most of it.

Actually, they have been saying recently that the building may be converted into a crime lab, for Detroit cops, so there may be use shortly. And i think the fact that it is still standing shows that Detroit is not willing to let it go. But i completely disagree that detroit is without much beauty. I think that some of the art that gets put on the inside of these buildings (in this particular building there is a 50 x 50 ft graffiti tag that is absolutely stunning). All of these high abandoned buildings are amazing places with beautiful history.+

HDR overdone

really? well, i overcame a lot of obstacles to make that image so i'm quite proud of it the way it is.

I have to agree with the HDR comment, but then I am biased, because I am not a fan of HDR anyway......but each to their own!

well much appreciated, i think i'll try it out again...now are you guys saying that the levels vary too much? the colors pop out from each other unnaturally...what exactly is "overdone", considering that is a hardly specific or constructive thing to say

the bit that ruins this for me personally, is the overpowering 'halo' glow around the building, it is, in my mind, just too much!!

Wow...i guess i'll never upload a fisheye image to PXLshots again...it got distorted and resized...

did you enter a shot with this hood in place once before?..............if you don't mind me saying, it is ruining potentially great shots from you.........!

no i haven't, but i can't afford a real sony fisheye (850 bucks) so i attempted this opteka add on lens, and it is quite frustrating to work with... I have regular shots with a non-crap lens add-on, but, i had cleared out all the trash because i was trying to get a great shot with the water running over the rocks...and i got it, it just doesn't display pollution whatsoever...

this is a nice shot of a waterfall and rocks........but the ring doesn't do it any justice at all.......are you able to crop the ring, and just enter the cropped shot........you might even be able to crop in close enough to see the garbage!

perhaps...i actually don't ever edit, i can't really remember the last time i even cropped. I sha'll work on this tonight!
