(2 years and 342 days ago)I love the mood and the colors!
(2 years and 342 days ago)An AWESOME shot. Looks like a top 3 to me. Looks great. The lighting and reflections work very well. Good Luck!
(2 years and 342 days ago)nice wheels and great shot
(2 years and 342 days ago)This is absolutely amazing.
(2 years and 342 days ago)nice car.
(2 years and 342 days ago)stunning
(2 years and 341 days ago)wow, this is beautiful
(2 years and 341 days ago)Well, it's gorgeous -- but checking gradients in tells me it was heavily chopped and masked, thus not allowed in this contest, pity.
(2 years and 341 days ago)Actually, burn tool. No chopping or masking.
(2 years and 341 days ago)fabulous composition
(2 years and 341 days ago)the crash didn't alter your manners then nofue.................now you are acting as judge and jury!!
(2 years and 341 days ago)What tools/alterations CAN I use? Basic Adjustments (levels, curves, hue, saturation, ...) Minor filters (slight blur, noise reduction, sharpness, ...). NO sketchy or chrome effects or any effect that alter your photo significantly. Crop and rotate. Lens correction. Panoramas. Camera raw editing. Remove dust and scratches from a scan. Looks like burn and dodge is okay!
(2 years and 341 days ago)This looks like a poster I had on my wall in the 80's... retro chic... I like it...
(2 years and 340 days ago)@ade: Hu? Asking for rules compliant entries is not welcome? I just ask for a fair game -- pity if it is on a picture everybody seems o like, me included. But it's edited in a non tolerable way. And @Bluefly: Are you in charge to twist the rules here? Selective editing is a no go, as it was used to alter this picture significantly, and using _any_ brush tool, wether for coloring, dodging, burning, etc. is a no go according to the rules. I asked the author to enter the unedited version, but it seems that comment got lost. It's all about a level playing field, but if exceptions on the rules are made on occasion, it's by no means level. And I have the guts to ask for just rule compliant entries, welcome or not.
(2 years and 340 days ago)wow.. this is a stunning image. too bad there is so much arguing over whether or not someone knows how to take a good image. Wonderfully done author
(2 years and 340 days ago)dodge and burn is a traditional part of darkroom photography, we have been doing it for years, so why not here. I was using dodge and burn techniques before digital photog and PS were even thought of!!!
(2 years and 340 days ago)Ade -- yes, I know this and it's a technique I use with my regular work quite often. But it's selective editing and this is not allowed in the rules, period. There's no point about arguing about 'regular techniques', as there are many more which aren't allowed either. Just look at this picture in an editing program, push the curves and you'll see what I mean: most of the visual effect comes from hiding the less interesting parts by masking out. And if a photo is substantially changed, it's to be dq'ed. Talk about level playing fields, and please done fight me as I didn't cheat in this contest. I didn't even enter because I feel it's not a level playing field anymore, if this entry remains in the contest. Then I'll be the next after Karaflazz to leave this site.
(2 years and 339 days ago)from what I can see, all that has been done here is adjusting the curves, that is allowed!!........I can find no evidence of the 'masking' you are going on about!!!
(2 years and 338 days ago)nofue is a baby crying about a photo he thought would get removed because he said so. I am not changing anything."What tools/alterations CAN I use? Basic Adjustments (levels, curves, hue, saturation, ...) Minor filters (slight blur, noise reduction, sharpness, ...). NO sketchy or chrome effects or any effect that alter your photo significantly. Crop and rotate. Lens correction. Panoramas. Camera raw editing. Remove dust and scratches from a scan." is from the guidelines not me.

(2 years and 342 days ago)Yeah, 3 exposures.
(2 years and 342 days ago)awsome
(2 years and 342 days ago)Just beautiful!
(2 years and 342 days ago)I think it a lovely shot. Can someone tell me if HDR is allowed in the rules or not I get confused with what editing is allowed
(2 years and 342 days ago)I hope HDR is allowed. I think it should be so long as filters are not used like applying 'Photomatix'. This for example is a genuine image shot from my 30d using the auto bracket feature. It a wonderful technique to capture a scene that would otherwise be impossible to expose. I agree that HDR can be totaly blown out of proportion though.
(2 years and 342 days ago)ok, good image, but what is subject, fg and bg?
(2 years and 342 days ago)Interesting! But what's HDR?
(2 years and 341 days ago)WoW! and for fintan... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imaging
(2 years and 340 days ago)Well done!
(2 years and 340 days ago)great mood and really sharp.
(2 years and 340 days ago)fintan: HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. It's a digital technique that allows to fuse three or more identical shots with different exposition, resolving area that would otherwise totally black or totally white. A good program for HDR is Photomatix. Hope my explanation was clear... I'm not so good in english!
Such a pitty about the blow out in the clouds. Great shot!
